Fundraising for the California Compassionate Choices Act

In early 2006, KRC worked with Compassion & Choices to solicit and secure major donors for the statewide campaign to pass the California Compassionate Choices Act, a bill patterned after Oregon's Death with Dignity Act. The Supreme Court's recent ruling to uphold Oregon's law and the bill's broad base of support among Californians made this a particularly timely issue.

The KRC team coordinated high-donor meetings and events in living rooms across the state between April and June, 2006. Over a 3-month period we raised nearly $70,000 at events in Marin, San Francisco, Woodside, Santa Barbara and Bel-Air.
